The Move

Well family and friends I have decided to start my blog. I can't promise that I will post often to start with, but that is my goal. I always lay in bed at night or "naptime" thinking of everything that I want to post! So its TIME!

I'm not a writer so please no judging on any errors!

Our move to Kansas City, MO

Not going to lie, when Jeff told me that we were moving to Kansas City, MO it wasn't at the top of my list. Don't get me wrong I knew what I was getting myself into when I told Jeff that I was fully supported of his decision to continue onto an Oral Surgery program after graduating from Dental school @ OHSU with his DMD.  It was a conversation that we had multiple times prior to him even doing the application part to 20 diffrent programs across the country.  I guess it didn't set in as being real until actually the day we were driving away from my family with our car loaded down and the Uhaul about 3 hours ahead of us.  Jeff's grandpa Chuck was nice enough to drive it for us. As I sit in the front seat of our car, crying and waving good-bye to my family that was watching us drive away, it got real. Very real and sad. I have never lived out of Oregon or this far away from my family.  I know people do this all the time, but me, never thought I would be more than a few hours away from my sister and parents. Especially with a baby.

I actually only cried for about 45 minutes the start of the drive. I was pretty impressed, as was Jeff! It took us 2 nights, 3 days to get to our new home in Blue Springs, MO! That part I was excited about, we were HOME OWNERS! Liam did amazing. I was very worried about the long drive for him only being 11 months old. We were on a tight schedule as Jeff was starting work in one week from when we left Oregon. Jeff tried to get Liam & I to fly to MO and meet him, but I knew that if I didn't get in the car with him, I'm not sure I would have gone at all. With my crazy fear of flying and to top it with not looking forward to moving, it was very iffy! :)

We had amazing help from Becky's  family once we arrived. They had a crew of people to help us move into the house. It was wonderful, with me being pregnant and a baby crawling around, Jeff needed the help. Even if he didn't want to admit it.  Jeff started work 5 days or so after we got moved in. I had tons of time on my hands to get everything organized and cleaned. It was a good thing to keep my mind off the move and Jeff working all the time. When I say all the time, I mean 100+ hours a week. Talk about a huge adjustment for me & still is.

I could go on and on about the first few months of being in Kansas City, MO, but honestly its just sad. I had very hard days adjusting to the life without my family and friends just a drive away. Lots of tears flooded my eyes for quiet some time. I sitll have hard days, but I will get to that in a different post.

I'm going to try and think of fun weekly post to do each week, so if you have any ideas or something you really want me to write about LET ME KNOW! This blog will be a lot of VENTING with memories for everyone to be apart of our cutie-patootie boys that have made our lives wonderful!!
